Supported Employment & Production
The Adult Training and Habilitation Center is currently involved with numerous community based work sites. These jobs include assembly, packaging, food service, and janitorial.
ATHC has a variety of options in community-based supported employment. We strive to promote consumers' individual growth, independence and inclusion in the communities where they work and live and look forward to expanding our employment program over the coming years. We wish to provide our workers with increased opportunities to demonstrate their capabilities, explore new possibilities, expand their horizons, interact more fully with their communities and provide quality employees to area businesses.
We are continually looking for new and additional opportunities for individuals that we serve.
At ATHC most consumers work from one to six hours per day depending on their age, interest, and need for instruction in other areas as determined by their Team (IDT), They work on subcontracted packaging, assembly, and clerical jobs and are paid for each piece they complete regardless of the level of assistance they require.
In addition, Consumers work at both facilities cleaning the lunch room, offices, bathrooms, and commons areas as well as picking up trash, recycling and room organization.
Some workers receive one-to-one instruction and supervision, while others work independently. The level of assistance is individualized to promote independence while offering maximum opportunity for skill development and enhancement.
We currently work with some very large suppliers and companies throughout the United States and continually look for more opportunities.
